Heartland Football Association Welcomes Queen City Insane Asylum and Quad City Nighthawks

The Heartland Football Association is excited to welcome the Queen City Insane Asylum and Quad City Nighthawks for the 2023 season. Both organizations enter the HFA with impressive backgrounds. Queen City, out of Springfield, MO, is led by owner Caleb Scott. Quad City, out of Rock Island, IL, is led by owner Jason Teague.

QUEEN CITY: Queen City enters the HFA after a 3 year run in 8 man. During this time, they were ranked #2 nationally and had a combined record of 27-2. They were the NFA IDFL National Champions in 2020 and 2021 and the MDFA Champions in 2022.

QUAD CITY: Quad City enters the HFA after spending the previous 2 years in 8 man. They will complete their 8 man season commitment this year as they transition over to the HFA. Quad City previously competed in 11 man as part of the Midwest Football Alliance.

“We learned a lot through our initial year last year,” said HFA President Andrew Mather “and one of those things was the need for stable, quality organizations that not only compete on the field but are professionally run and community focused off the field. We believe we have absolutely hit home runs with these two additions, on top of the Bulldogs already joining. We have said all along we would be very picky this year about who we add. Our owners have vetted and met with each team and we have worked hard to ensure that anyone who joins adds quality, stability, and a great brand to the HFA.”

The Asylum and Nighthawks will be the 6th and 7th members of the HFA, which is now comprised of:

Kansas City Bulldogs (Kansas City, MO)           Newton Nite Hawks (Newton, IA)

Omaha Stockmen (Omaha, NE)                 Quad City Nighthawks (Rock Island, IL)

Minneapolis Warriors (Minneapolis, MN)            Queen City Insane Asylum (Springfield, MO)

Missouri Swarm (Saint Joseph, MO)

The HFA will now turn their attention to their league meeting at the end of January and letter of intent signings which will open on January 9th, 2023.
